Let’s Get to Know Me!
Hello everyone, my name is Jennah! I am currently a college student pursuing a BFA in Dance with a concentration in Ballet and a minor in Business. I am in my fourth and final year at the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University.
Training & Experience!
I began dancing at the age of 5 studying various styles of dance at New Tampa Dance Theatre under the artistic direction of Dyane Elkins IronWing. I focused on classical ballet with training by Nanako Yamamoto. Furthermore, I had years of tap training with Troy IronWing, modern training with Erica Lessner, Carla Armstrong, and Jennie Petuch, and jazz training with Dyane Elkins IronWing. In 2013, I made the decision to change dance studios to America’s Ballet School to concentrate on classical ballet.
At America’s Ballet School, I received my instruction by Artistic Director Paula Nunez, Ballet Master Osmany Montano, and Ballet Mistresses Barbara Valles-Lagarde and Luana Hidalgo. In addition, I discovered various modern and contemporary choreographic styles under the training of Elsa Valbuena, Jeanne Travers, and Sarah Walston.
Throughout my years of high school and training I was part of the National Dance Honor Society. I have also been fortunate enough to participate in numerous outreach performances, festivals, galas, and master classes across the state of Florida. Additionally, I have participated and placed Top 12 while performing solos and ensembles in the American Dance Competition (2014) and Youth American Grand Prix (2015-2019).
My repertoire includes various classical ballets like Coppelia, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, and The Nutcracker. I also performed as a trainee for two seasons with the Tampa City Ballet performing many choreographies such as 7th Avenue and Ybor, Frida, Outflow, and It’s Happening Anyways.
